Our History

3D for the service of solidarity!

In 2020, amid the health crisis, France faced a shortage of medical equipment, leaving healthcare workers unprotected. In response to this urgency, a group of committed citizens, who would later become the founders of Cosmyx, decided to take action. They launched a call for solidarity, mobilizing anyone with a 3D printer to produce protective face shields.

This collective movement gave birth to Visière Solidaire, a “citizen factory” bringing together over 8,000 volunteers, soon joined by major industrial groups. Together, they managed to manufacture and distribute over 1.5 million face shields for free in just a few months. This decentralized, hyper-agile production system, made up of diverse 3D printers, demonstrated the effectiveness of such a model by enabling rapid, flexible, and large-scale production. This unprecedented approach to “distributed manufacturing” became, and remains, the DNA of Cosmyx.

This experience highlighted the potential of 3D printing for production, as well as its limitations in terms of industrialization. Based on this observation and the growing interest from industrial players in this innovative 3D solution, the founders of Visière Solidaire decided to create Cosmyx. Their ambition: to make 3D printing a reliable, high-performance, and innovative industrial tool, capable of meeting the needs of the most demanding sectors.

DISTRIBUED MANUFACTURING

This on-demand production model enables the implementation and use of Cosmyx machine fleets distributed geographically and coordinated using our technologies, thus promoting the relocation of production closer to the client and its point of use.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Our team of experts ensures responsive after-sales service and manages the full operation of the hundreds of 3D printers installed at our clients’ sites. We also support you in mastering 3D printing and your new production tool through training sessions led by qualified instructors.
