Le filament métal est composé de fines poudres métalliques mélangées à un liant polymère, qui permet son impression. Après fabrication, les pièces nécessitent un post-traitement incluant le déliantage puis le frittage afin d’obtenir leurs propriétés métalliques finales. Ce procédé requiert donc, en plus de l’imprimante 3D, l’utilisation d’un four de frittage.
